Thankful.

November 22, 2007

A few nights ago my comfort zone was invaded.  Someone tried to break into my house.  I live in intercity San Antonio, and only a block from two seperate halfway houses, as well as a large homeless shelter.  These things haven’t made me nervous until now.  At the wishes of my dad and just about every male friend I have, I’m moving as soon as possible.  In fact, I’ll be moving into a new place on the first of December.  The move is bittersweet.

Nevertheless, I am thankful for the people that God has placed around me, and His perfect providence in my life.  I feel protected and loved from all sides so much right now.

I Corinthians 1:I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge— even as the testimony about Christ was confirmed among you— so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

And a very happy 30th to my dear friend Christine.

Linkies

November 8, 2007

I have two new links for y’all.

The first is to my good friend, Michelle.  I’m not exactly sure why she wasn’t already up.

The second is to a very cool ‘green living’ blog.  Check out the Sustainable Scoop!

When the Lights Go Down on the City

November 3, 2007

I am sitting in my urban abode, in complete darkness.  My Willie is lying here next to me, sleeping soundly.  I can smell my chicken cooking in the oven, and there are sounds of a trumpet echoing against the wood floors. There is a great mariachi band playing just outside my window.  I’m enjoying the gleeful sounds of harmonizing female voices singing love songs in Spanish.

I love this city.
