So, the leading man of one of my favorite movies was found dead today.
So, the leading man of one of my favorite movies was found dead today.
Tom Cruise is a weirdo. No doubt. But is he really an incredible actor, or is he really THIS passionate?!
Man, I wonder how different things would be if I were this passionate about Christ.

She came a-rollin’ into town
tossing her fury all around
drenching every little thing
and tossing roofs upside down
making us all jump at every sound.
Nerves filled the thick summer air.
She didn’t seem to care
but rather remained proud
at the power that she’d found
to easily impress all of us around.
She’s welcome to stay the night
or maybe two if she plays her cards right
but she’ll dissipate before she gets where she’s bound.
She’s a fraction of a tempest in the night
a tandem of bark with no bite
and she’ll be lost before she’s found.

Why? That’s easy enough to explain.
Over the course of the last two years since I began this blog, I’ve gained a tiny following of readers. There are many things that these readers have come to expect: randomness, God, music… and more than anything else, honesty. The new title comes courtesy of Chris Kline– singer/songwriter/keyboarder for Miranda Lambert/friend of mine– through a song titled “Crying Lately”, known as “Stephanie’s Song” when he performs it live. The graphic is stock, but very much communicates what my blog has evolved into.
Be sure and tell me what you think!
I recently retook the Jung test for a work function, and I was both pleased and surprised at its results. It just seems more like me than the previous test that I took… My favorite summary of an ENFP is this: “They can’t bear to miss out on what is going on around them; they must experience, first hand, all the significant social events that affect our lives.” My dad would whole-heartedly agree, I think.
“ENFPs are warm, enthusiastic people, typically very bright and full of potential. They live in the world of possibilities, and can become very passionate and excited about things. Their enthusiasm lends them the ability to inspire and motivate others, more so than we see in other types. They can talk their way in or out of anything. They love life, seeing it as a special gift, and strive to make the most out of it.”
“Friends are what life is about to ENFPs, moreso even than the other NFs. They hold up their end of the relationship, sometimes being victimized by less caring individuals. ENFPs are energized by being around people. Some have real difficulty being alone, especially on a regular basis.”
“outgoing, social, disorganized, easily talked into doing silly things, spontaneous, wild and crazy, acts without thinking…”
“ENFPs are energetic and enthusiastic leaders who are likely to take charge when a new endeavor needs a visionary spokesperson. ENFPs are values-oriented people who become champions of causes and services relating to human needs and dreams. Their leadership style is one of soliciting and recognizing others’ contributions and of evaluating the personal needs of their followers. ENFPs are often charismatic leaders who are able to help people see the possibilities beyond themselves and their current realities. They function as catalysts.”
“Ranked 1st of all 16 types in using social and emotional coping resources and 2nd in using cognitive resources. “
A few famous ENFPs:
Bill Cosby
Bob Dylan
Carol Burnett
Charles Dickens
Dr. Suess
Robin Williams

So um… What say you…?
I have looooooooong hair.

Spurs fans everywhere are rejoicing this morning. It’s fairly well-known that any time the San Antonio Spurs step onto the court with ref Joey Crawford officiating, they’re going to struggle. Sunday was no different, as Crawford ejected Tim Duncan from the game for laughing on the bench.

Yes. He was sitting on the bench and laughing. Granted, I’m sure it was at Crawford’s expense, but still.
Anyway, I’ll get to the point. Crawford apparently challenged Duncan to a fight on the court. What is this? A drunken bar scene? Who pumps their chest and says, “You wanna fight?!” anymore? What a loser!
David Stern did one of the few admirable things he’s done as Commissioner of the NBA. He suspended Crawford indefinitely. Is that the Hallelujah Chorus I hear? I mean, come on. The NBA isn’t a fan of the Spurs. They aren’t money-makers. Attending a San Antonio Spurs game is actually affordable for the common family of four. They don’t stir up controversy… usually…. meaning that the media doesn’t focus on them a whole lot. They’re quiet and they’re determined, and I think this is the secret to winning games. Just ask Avery Johnson and the Dallas Mavericks.
The jerk (back to Crawford) cost us our No. 2 seed in the playoffs, as well as quite a bit of dignity in our state. Granted, we could be the Rockets, but no one wants to be THAT low.
I am no fan of Paul Tagliabue. Ask any of my former editors. They laughed at my disdain for the man, both personally and professionally. No one rejoiced more vehemently than I on that wonderful September morning when his retirement became official. Today comes the payoff, ladies and gentlemen. Today solidifies what a great thing the retirement of Tagliabue and the election of Roger Goodell really is. Today, we celebrate a real rule: one that helps the NFL, rather than makes it boring.
Goodell suspends Jones for season, Henry eight games
The thing is this– in the NFL moreso than other professional sports, the type of behavior that these two men are exhibiting is completely unacceptable, and it is sad that it runs rampant through the League. The players in the National Football League are educated and should be mature enough and well-versed enough to know better. We aren’t talking about the 18 year-old thug the Clippers found on a street court in the Bronx, here. We’re talking about (mostly) college graduates who have likely participated in organized athletics since they were 13 or so. It’s time to act like men. It’s nice to see that the League finally has a real man to lead the way.
